Dr. Matthew D. Lyons graduated the University of Houston College of Optometry with his Doctor of Optometry degree. While a student, he was elected to the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society for his outstanding leadership and service. Dr. Lyons also graduated as a Polymathic Honors Scholar from the University of Texas at Austin with his Bachelor of Science and Arts in Biology. While a student at the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Lyons volunteered at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (TSBVI). Lastly, as a nearby local, Dr. Lyons graduated from L. V. Berkner High School in Richardson, TX.
While at TSBVI, Dr. Lyons made his optometric cornerstone that everyone be given the best opportunity to visually interact with their community. He strives for the best visual outcome in every patient. Now practicing in Plano, TX, Dr. Lyons is therapeutically licensed to treat all diseases of the eye.
When not practicing, you can find Dr. Lyons performing bluegrass music, weight training, or volunteering at church. He enjoys spending time with friends, family, his wife Kayla Lyons, and his two Sphynx cats Leo and Nala.
